They arent expecting to be paid in full are they? If that happens then they may as well make HMRC preferential creditors officially.
Why was the law (that made HMRC preferential creditors) changed to begin with? And as it was changed then why the fuck do they expect 100% now. Does anyone know the average % the HMRC get when they wind companies up? And my argument is serious - LUFC have done nothing illegal in terms of insolvency here. If it werent for football league membership being at stake then HMRC would have to whistle for what they want. A simple answer would be to not make football clubs preferential creditors, which is what HMRC want. If the football league want to retain that and make HMRC go away then they can pay the difference between the 13% (or whatever it is now) that they get from LUFC and what HMRC want to go away. Put it another way, LUFC have no legal obligation to pay HMRC any more cash. The FL are trying to force LUFC to pay HMRC more, why? > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:leedslist- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of RickD > Sent: 02 August 2007 11:15 > To: leedslist > Subject: Re: [LU] The final countdown > > ----- Original Message ----- > If they are that worried then why don't they pay off HMRC themselves - > it > isn't > for LUFC's good if the HMRC get more money and slink off, it is a > football > league issue and they/we should all pay for it, especially as they have > just > been given £100m by the prem league. > > Incredible argument, or do I mean incredulous ?. > So from now onwards any club can go into administration and the FL will > have > to pay of the HMRC debt in full, on behalf of the club ?
