Mostly agree with RW here. Expanding on the Wise angle, I recon he was sold a pup by Bates and made what he could of a bad thing, which harks back to the Turd Polishing topic of a week or so ago

Luisa or whatever her name is said that they had never known a successful club whose fans hated their chairman. Well that might or might not be true but if you look at Leeds history does anyone have much affection for the Leeds chairman over the years? Only Risdale got the crowd chanting his name - he conned you all. You all liked him and he was in the process of ruining our club with his cavalier millionaire attitude towards money. Of course those of us who had heard about Risdale knew the truth and never trusted him one bit. So what does that tell you about 'popular chairman' ? Leslie Silver - did the fans like him ? Nah. They thought he was a tight fisted Jew who never put his hands in his pocket. Bill Fotherby - larger than life but did you actually like /trues the fella? When he wheeled in Tomas Schararvy (can't spell / remember his name) and all those times when he blurted out rubbish about the football club and who was coming. A complete clown. As for Krasner, Prof and the rest well you just tried to ignore them. You realised they were only interested in fleecing the club but you put it to the back of your mind and just hoped that El Tel could turn it around on the pitch (now that was praying for a miracle). So Bates is just one more for me. Yes he's got Chelsea connections , yes he's a c*nt, yes he needs a good shooeing but I would ask the question that everyone asked me when I wanted rid of Blackwell. What is the alternative right now and is the next person going to be any better? For all his failings I actually think Ken just wants to be in the limelight and have a bit of success at OUR club before he pegs it. It can't be about money for him which in my book is one thing he has over Krasner and co. He actually likes football as well - I've seen his wife having orgasms in the stand when Leeds score. Maybe it's her that's driving him on. Of coure, he's going about all the wrong way and has alienated just about everyone with his stick in the mud attitude (most old folk are like that - I can tell you that !) but he's certainly getting the limelight and I think Wise may also get some success for him. I think in the position we are in today we can't really pick and choose managers or chairman and a few wins into the season and I reckon everyone will have forgotten about Bates and Wise will suddenly be a hero. Bold prediction but that's mine for this season. GO ON LEEDS ! ___________________________________________________________ Get an email address for life with Yahoo!
