Rich, I agree that the Ref probably had no choice over Kandol - and Kandol was stupid to clap him sarcastically - but it was the complete inconsistency of the referee that was totally infuriating - Sodje and the other Gillingham centre half consistently fouling - I think someone else pointed out he twice had to get treatment after being elbowed.
I honestly haven't seen such shocking refereeing for a long time - but a bit more discipline from our lads and keeping it zipped would have helped. However, this ref was truly honestly, something spectacularly awful.
