Despite the ref being a Grade A muppet - we really should have been smart
enough to learn and adjust - as ending with 9 was the only way we weren't
going to win. Both of Kandol's cards and Beckford's first were wholly
avoidable.

Gillingham really were terrible - after the first twenty minutes we were
absolutely cruising with 11. With ten we were still well on top and Beckford
should have scored with a header at the end of the first half and nearly
scored with an overhead kick at the start of the second. Even with nine we
weren't under huge pressure until the last 5 minutes, Casper only really had
to make one good save - diving low to his left - and Gillingham's ability to
lose possession by passing the ball out or over-hitting crosses was somewhat
astonishing. Indeed we actually made the odd half chance ourselves, Westlake
and Weston just failing to connect with shots and another free-kick from a
good position sailing over.

Bizarrely after they equalised - we appeared to push Heath upfront in an
attempt to win the game - soon followed by a panicky rush back when we lost
possession. If anything yesterday did just reinforce the view that we should
cruise up the league - team seem to be improving, Prutton and Douglas were
both excellent.

I'd imagine we'll face some punishment for the coins and the odd bit of seat
thrown at the ref at the end, though it wouldn't surprise me if the Gills fans
avoid punishment for running around in Caspers goalmouth after they equalised.

Didn't go to the match but a couple of points from
listening to the Radio Leeds commentary.

1) Kandol was on a yellow (ok it sounded a dodgy
yellow) but why then sarcastically clap the ref Wayne
Rooney style to get sent off. Sounds like the ref had
no choice.

2) Beckford - on a yellow and goes in and takes the
Gill's man off his feet (seen it on YouTube) - again
the ref had no choice according to Eddie.
