Dave, I feel no sympathy for Blackwell. He's getting paid a load of money for doing a very average job. Yes he bought Rui and Beckford but as you say he never played them ! In fact Rui's only performance was against Swindon in the league cup at right back where I thought he showed promise. If nothing else Blackwell should have realised that he had pace. Blackie was determined to go with experience in Gregan and Butler. I had to watch this shit for a couple of years - he subjected me to the worse football for some time where we never attempted to play football and only scored goals from set pieces.... and yes we crawled towards a play-off final but jeez I wish we hadn't given that we didn't turn up in cardiff. He was so limited as a manager it was unture.
Surely no sympathy.
