.....on the subject of Apple TV, how well does it work? It's not an option for me as my humble flat screen but about 50cm deep tv only has a scart port, but burning downloaded content on to dvds - even if re-writeable - is a slight nuisance.

One of the ways to get around it is to attach the ipod to iTunes and change the ipod profile to allow manual updates and then 'drag / drop' the specific files onto the ipod.
