>>On another musical note, anyone see Oasis on The Electric Prom last night?
Now I'm not the biggest fan of theirs, although I do like Noel's FU
attitude and humour, but I have to say it was excellent. Liam's voice
aside (He's a complete tosspot IMHO) I thought the whole thing was
quality, the drummer they now have is the closest thing to Moon the Loon
since ... well, Keith Moon!!!!<<

That'll be Chris Sharrock, journeyman drummer par excellence, once of the
Icicle Works and the La's, more recently with the Lightning Seeds and, er
Robbie Williams. Noel seems to be hiring drummers connected to his fave bands
-
La's, Ringo's boy, Weller's drummer's brother etc. I expect Reni out of the
Stone Roses will be next.

It was better than I'd expected (which was not a lot) - though as you say
Liam's voice is shot. Which leaves not a lot, really. And why do they keep
shovelling Beatles references into every sodding song. Just highlights the
gulf
in class.

As for AC/DC, they've lost it too - there's a big jessie ballad on the new
album. Soft rock bland-out ;-)
