Have read that when we got promoted in 89 \ 90 our away form was not that
great with 8 wins, 7 draws and 8 losses - so far this season we have won 4
lost 3 and drawn one so quite similar. It was our home form that got us up
last time and this season we have won 5 , lost 1 , drawn 1 so it is
beginning to be 'fortress Elland Road'
Funny you should mention that Dave, I spent a few minutes yesterday watching
the video of the early part of that campaign and we got off to a really poor
start, down in mid-table after a run of draws and I remarked to the boy Sean
how similar it was.
The other things that struck me about it was how strange the ground looked
without the magnificent new ( how quickly we forget how things were and take
for granted how they are), and the tackles that flew in without even a
free-kick being given, never mind a caution! The game has changed so much.
