As for perfect chairmen...

Steve Gibson comes closest but the truth will come with what he chooses to do
with the £90m debt he is owed.

Maybe the villa bloke with time too.

I would say the best right now has to be the Newcastle one. Keeps his head
down, no team interference, let's's the manager get on with it... :-)

If i had to pick a Chairman amongst those of the last 15-20 years,
honestly, i'd go for Bates. That's how bad the others were. I'm not a
huge fan of KB but stone me, the others were even worse. I don't recall
ANY fond memories of the clowns that ran LUFC pre Ridsdale times...

Can someone name ONE single Club Chairman that has universal support of
the fans?? Do Palace fans like Simon Jordan? Who on occasion speaks
sense, despite his Duran Duran locks.

Scanning down the Prem, possibly the recent owner of Villa seems good,
but early to say still.Do Boro fans like Steve Gibson, who it seems MAY
be the ideal Chairman - but i know nothing about him.

if it was being run commercially the evidence of its investments would
be clear for all to see. In effect we have a dwindling supporter base a
low footballing profile and no clear idea of where we are going next.

Events on the pitch bear this out. A commercial success in football
club terms must include success on the pitch otherwise why not run a car
park or a sports shop or a tea bar?

However whilst ever supporters remain supine about this they will
continue to be ripped off with second rate fare.

This may be what they want, in which case the proletariat is indeed
lumpen :-)

Too many ifs Richard, which is no way to run a successful business,
never mind a poxy foootball club

Anyone going down the pub this aft?
