In my experience if you choose not to accept the punishment offered and ask for
a personal hearing, the punishment is often increased. Last season the FA used
the euphemism frivolous nature of the appeal, when dismissing appeals where the
offender was clearly bang to rights a la 'Elbows' Beckford.

not quite - gets "offered" a 3 match ban.

How did the FA get round the FIFA regulations you might wonder? Well
apparently Wiley said he booked beckford for a pushing incident with the
keeper BEFORE the elbow.. therefore officially the booking was not for the
same incident.

As far as video evidence goes, I think it is pretty fucking clear that the
ONLY pushing Beckford did was with his elbow, before that he was pushed
and knocked in the face by the defender and keeper.

So the FA are being their usual bunch of crafty little shits in
engineering this so they can punish Beckford/Leeds.

What actually happened was that the linesman saw evidence of some jostling
between keeper and beckford BECAUSE the keeper dropped to the floor like a
sack of shit. So they guessed he had been pushed, but didnt know how, so
they booked Beckford for it. It is only because the game was on Sky that
Wiley saw the incident replayed endlessly on TV later and realised he
missed the seriousness of the 'push'. Well tough shit, the "incident" you
booked him for was the one and only incident that he was involved with,
you therefore dealt with the incident and that, according to FIFA rules is
the matter over with.

According to the rule books, you know those ones that use used to the
letter to prevent us getting promotion last year.

Fucking wankers the lot of them.. talk about trial by media...
