Terry, Have you ever seen Beeston play on the hill before games. I tell you,
their players would never run a ball out of play whilst looking up to see
options, and then smile about it.
Not watched local football for a long time but unless it's improved a lot
since I refereed it I would suggest that the vast majority of players on
Beeston hill wouldn't have the ability to even attempt to dribble along the
touch line, let alone cock it up.
Ok, Johnson might not be a pub player but he wouldn't look out of place in a
lower non-league team.
Agreed.
Yes we're 3rd division but does that excuse not being able to control a ball
and pass a simple 10 yard ball to a white shirt. Of course it doesn't.
Agreed. But because we are in the third division and thus, by definition,
not as good as the Premiership for example, we make more mistakes than
better players. Even internationals cock up, you've only to watch England to
see that, but they cock up less often than lesser players.
Some Leeds players are not playing to the required standard whilst others
bust a gut. It will cost us in the long run and that's what the match
reports are generally saying.
Fair enough
So don't give me the you can't criticise them 'cos their 3rd division and
their crap ... that's bollox Terry.
Never said you can't critisise them. I do my fair share of that, believe me,
but I dislike immoderate critisism such as calling them pub players when
they are obviously, for all their faults, better than that.
To take Becchio for example. I see a player who has limitations, his first
touch is often poor, he has missed a number of chances so his goal tally
should be better and he sometimes fall over a little too easily. However he
has played a part in virtually every game this season, his first season in a
new country and a new style of football and, in my opinion, has contributed
greatly to the team with his non-stop effort, with his ability to hold up
the ball (once he has got it under control) and bring others into the game
and the goals he has scored.
If he had only the positive attributes I see and not the negative ones he
wouldn't be playing for us he'd be in the Premiership. This is the point I'm
trying to make about us having third division players.
You look at Becchio and see someone who is totally shit. To be fair you did
give him credit for his second half performance on Monday but even then you
had to say he was only decent in comparison to the woeful Trundle.

only going to give scores on the doors but when I saw Richs
(enclosed) I think he has got them bang on though a bit
generous for Rui whose distribution was woeful - even Delph
who was awful last night - he originally gave the ball away
for their goal but did then have a little spell when he
tried to make amends and he did have a couple of decent bits
of play but he was way below par - perhaps it is time for a
rest and let either Howson or Kilkenny have a run ?

Thank god for a bit of sanity Dave. I watched it on the
tele and I enjoyed it too, even though some of the play,
especially in the first half, was pretty crap.
FFS folks, WE ARE IN THE THIRD DIVISION, WE HAVE THIRD
DIVISION PLAYERS AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE OFTEN CRAP AND DO
SILLY THINGS.
There are only two or three of them who are above third
division standard and when they are a bit off it as Delph
and Beckford were last night we can look pretty poor.
Poor as they are though they are better than pub players.
Even Johnson and Parker are better than pub players and to
say anything different is bollocks.
