Yep - main thing to report was the excellent atmosphere in the Leeds end for the vast majority of the game. However, as well as being non-existent on the pitch, Dickinson also managed to quieten the crowd down a bit in the 2nd half, as a large scale argument broke out around me. Not about whether he was any good or not - everyone agreed he was useless - more to do with whether people should try to encourage him or jeer / chant 'USA'. Grayson's judgement has generally been spot on - Naylor and Sodje were excellent again - but his relentless pursuit of Dickinson is hardly being vindicated at the moment. I'd be tempted to see if there is a recall clause in Kandol's loan, now that Charlton are virtually down. He's more effective than Dickinson. Otherwise our play-off hopes are virtually entirely dependant on Beckfords fitness and mood.
Easy to see why Leicester have done well, big strong and organised at the back with good wingers delivering chances for 2 big blokes upfront. Thought we dealt with them well but lack of cutting edge was frustrating. I think we have a more talented team than Leicester - just haven't been consistent enough over a season. Huge game with Tranmere next week - yesterdays results also meant Northampton and Hartlepool both remain in the thick of the relegation battle - wouldn't want to need many points from them. Leicester have proved over the course of the season that they are the best team in this league and yet we matched them in every department and were never really under the cosh, with Sodje and Naylor absolutely solid at the back for 90mins and Casper taking a few crosses \ corners. Unfortunately the game these days lasts for longer than 90mins and we just switched off for that vital second which allowed a good corner to be met by an even better header and all our good work was undone.
