MILLWALL have denied all knowledge of a £750,000 bid for hitman Rickie Lambert. The 27-year-old was League One's joint top scorer last season, with Swindon's Simon Cox - the pair both hit 29 goals in the league campaign. And BBC Radio London reported at lunchtime today that a £750,000 bid for the Liverpool-born star from the Lions had been turned down.
But insiders at The Den denied a bid has been made. Lambert scored three times against Kenny Jackett's side last season, in just two games, impressing in both with his ability in the air and with his feet. But Rovers boss Paul Trollope is believed to value the player at more than double that figure. So the next few weeks will test his resolve - as well as the player's determination to stay at the Memorial Ground. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
