Hi To stir the pot a bit. Beckford takes with him an ability to score and an inability to play as a team player with no finesse. His ability to score at a higher level at the rate he did is doubtful. His 'failures' on the other hand will become even more pronounced. In short he may well not make it above this level. His demo films must look incredible. But they will not show the 'rest'. So I certainly would not break the wage structure, not risk dressing room distress and certainly grab the dosh. One point I have about Beckford is that when needed he is not there. He did not score in the semis this year or last or in the final. Five games. Five important ones. In many ways he flatters to deceive. I wonder if Grella or Elliot ae up to it? My worry is about Snodgrass will he go or will he have the 2nd season fade? I think that he is the key to next season. I guess that Delph is a certainty to go too. He will be the choice of teams rebuffed on their first choices. Again, having seen Bremner at that age, I feel that the money is worth more than he is. This is a modern age of different football. Most teams have one or two in and out every year. We have the basis of a team. If Beckford goers & he will we only are in need of a striker. The rest of acquisitions are squadies. Having heard that Sodje never trained as he was too crocked I would be wary here too. He is too injury prone for my liking. Still wouldn't complain if he stayed. :)) Michael
