Just watched the brief highlights from Tuesday on the Beeb website. OK, we
are talking V Brief but very impressed with how Kandol took his goal and a
pretty decent header prior to that.
Also read the reports that both praised his 1st half effort. Could he
possibly be a player that has benefitted behind the scenes from Larry's
coaching and now be ready to comeback or is he destined for a release come
January?
I never thought Kandol was quite as black as he was painted (oops, in
footballing terms that is), and he was quite impressive on Tuesday.
We can't get too carried away as Darlington were shite, but we thought his
first touch had improved considerably from our memories of him and he took
his goal extremely well.
He has scored goals in the Championship with Charlton, scored reasonably
regularly for us under Wise and is without doubt a far better player than
the awful Showumni. There is even a case to be made for him being a better
bet than Becchio, though I think Becchio will remain Grayson's first choice
if he is fit.
Kandol got off to a terrible start when he first joined us and a lot of fans
couldn't see past that when he improved. Having compared him with Showumni
most fans I have talked with would like to see him move above our Enoch in
the pecking order.
