OMG - happy you say?

He was f&*^%ng livid, as anyone who has played up front and had "one of
those games", or probably people have witnessed the same before, would
realise.

As a striker, if you are creating chances for yourself, having decent
strikes but seeing them hit the post, get deflections, or more importantly
seeing the keeper make save after save, you literally have to laugh or cry
and pound the ground in frustration.

Smiling/laughing is such circumstances is ironic. He thought he was
having "one of those games" and every miss/save was reinforcing that. In
your head you are saying to yourself that you just wont score today,
doesnt mean you like it, doesnt mean you wont keep trying.

That is why he did the brow wipe when he scored.. it was a "thank fuck for
that" or an "at last!" gesture.

No striker at any level is "happy" to miss chances, least of all a
professional.
