I'm sure Grayson will be measured about this, but I hope to God he decides
enough is enough. We need the first team out of those bloody Cups. Personally I
wouldn't swap victory at Wembley in either competition for failure to win
automatic promotion. Let's take the chance to get the first-choice team out of
the Cup games - you never know, the second string might rise to it at Carlisle
anyway. Otherwise if we fail the perception will always be that we
over-stretched ourselves when the chance was there.
We've had our two big days. We've got the DVD. Now suspensions will come fast -
lots of bookings in the last two games.
There are games we've won this year that we won't/wouldn't win next season. We
need to get out of this league now, or another cycle of
departures/arrivals/rebuilding will be needed and we'll be three or four more
years getting up.
This is the wake-up call tonight. Hopefully it'll have a similar effect
to Hereford away last year. Whatever happens against Colchester (and I fear for
us), we have got to put the reserves and youth out against Spurs and Carlisle.
Very very depressing tonight.

Can we pls now agree we are in a slump?
There must also now be many more of us who want out of the cup asap.
I think we have found SGs first failure at LU. Keeping the team focussed on
what's important.
Is someone now going to defend the position that the cup has no effect on our
league form? Is someone going to tell us that we were unlucky at Swindon, and
we played as well as we did against Spurs?
I have never before wished that LUFC would lose a match, but I am now in that
strange position.
Cheers
Alec
