Thats a bit trite Chris, the difference is that in rhe case of climate change the vast majority of objective scientists agree that it is most likely human induced. Its not snake oil salesman or dodgy email pyramid schemes, it could be a matter of life and death for lots of people, incuding my kids and grandkids. The forces ranged against it are interts groups, oil industry and extremeist groups on the right and left, to whom concerted international action on anything is anethema and a sign of a "new world order!" My preferred analogy would be that of Dr Wakefield, who along with some media organisations and injury lawyers used unethical and unscientific methods to try and prove a link between MMR & various prevalent diseases.
