I completely disagree.
Football has always been 'larger than life'.
We are allowed heroes and villains.
Anyone that goes back into a wrecked plane is a hero. Full stop.
They got on with it. Those that could were back on the pitch in days.
What do we have today? Fucking compassionate leave when you mangle your own
dick by mistake.
Those were the days of John Wayne. Now it is Michael Jackson.
As a kid is how I remember it. And that is how I want to remember it.
In those days Good was good and Bad was bad.
Nowadays we devalue the good by besmirching it and legitimise the bad by
explaining.
The guys then were heroes. A nation looked up to them. You cannot change
that.
And singing tawdry chauvinistic puerile songs about a tragic death is bad.
Very bad.
Michael
