Couldn’t sleep last night, but still woke up early this morning. Had to
verify that everything was not a dream…

We are out of league one – and it feels SOOOO very good!!!

The game yesterday was live on TV in Norway, provided by Viasat Football. My
local pub showing football was packed with Leeds fans, we are normally from
6-7 to 10-15 people there watching Leeds, but yesterday more than 40 people
were in the room, everybody wearing Leeds United shirts, scarfs etc.

The atmosphere was tense, there were a lot of singing, most people had faith
and believed.

Then Gradel was sent off. We could see replays, and it was a clear sending
off no doubt, it was a silly stupid thing to do, and at the time I was
thinking that this man is letting his team mates down in this way in this
important game, I will never see him in the white shirt again. After seeing
him celebrate after the game, this might be the time to forgive… Anyway, the
incident lead to a lot of “that was that”, “typical Leeds, we always have to
blow it” comments around… The break couldn’t come soon enough, we needed it…

Went out in the sun, fresh air, and was not more than just back in and we
had to pick one out of our own net… The rest is history; I am also happy
with the goalscorers; our very own Howson, I hope he progress and never
start on the bench again, and Beckford…. All the best to you, Mr. B. Making
him the captain might be genious and I am not surprised if he still wear the
Leeds shirt come August… I expect him to go, I have no bad feelings if he
goes, but will not be shocked if he stays…

Needless to say, there were celebrations in Haugesund, Norway after the
game; ten of us also got kicked out of a pub just for being happy! We were
in the pubs outside area, and were told we could not sing football songs
(singing marching on together, we are leeds, etc), as this was not a footy
pub… We tried to sing an Elvis song, just for fun, and the guard said
nothing. Then we started singing the Leeds songs again, and got kicked out…

Anyway, congratulations everyone - this is so wonderful – and actually
nothing more than we deserve !!!

Øystein
