Hi Mike,

Changing out the plate is just four screws that use the 3/16 wrench that comes
with the machines. If you lose your mind and crank, the plastic bevel gears
will likely shred. The holding power is pretty damn solid. Backlash is not an
issue since the lock and index plate is self aligning and accommodates wear.
You've hit most of my concerns with selling this tool.

One vote for front mounted latch.

-Tim

I think locking should be in front
A concern I have is complacency. There will be a lot of force able to be
applied to the lock pin if someone just loses their mind and just starts to
crank.
What about back lash? I guess the TK lockey lever will have to be part of
the kit.
How easy will it be to change out index plates?
Great mod though, lots of promise

There is no list at the moment. I need to work out some details on the

One bit of input I would like from those interested in a locking system is
which side do you want the lock handle to exit from. My first choice is the
side opposite the crank handle, but I'm also thinking the front would be good
as well.

way to index the table in a reliable and repeatable manner. I've been
modifying my moulding center and thought this would be a good opportunity to
try my idea out. Basically, I made a hub that mounts to the underside of the
rotary table.
          >

          > This hub allows me to bolt custom index plates to the bottom of
the rotary table. This is completely out of the way of wood chips. A spring
loaded mechanism is used to lock the rotary table from turning. A knob in the
front of the machine is used to release the lock. When I don't need the
indexing capabilities, the knob locks the pin out of the way allowing the
rotary table to function as normal.
          >

          > It's really easy and fast to use. Simply pull back on the knob
and rotate the crank. The pin falls into the next notch. This system should be
easily adapted to Legacy's rotary table. That will be my next step in this
little adventure.
