Hi guys
I have always thought the UK gallon was more in volume than a US gallon but
have also thought there were 4.2 litres (liters - American spelling) to UK
gallon and apparently I was wrong, below are definitive values:

• The imperial (UK) gallon is officially defined as 4.54609 litres
• The U.S. liquid gallon equates to approximately 3.785 litres.
• One imperial gallon is equivalent to approximately 1.2 U.S. liquid
gallons.

I never realised that Brigitte was an American lady, I always thought you
were a west country lass using these foreign gallons! So at her price of
£1.419 per litre a US gallon is $8.594 where as my price is $7.865.

Regards
Roger

I thought a gallon was about the same as 3.78 liters, if my math is corect
that would come to about half what you came up with. I pay about 3.30 a
gallon here
