In 2000 they switched to aluminum rails so I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you got a version of a red machine but as far as I know the MA-12 designation was reserved for the Woodchuck model. I didn't realize that. Well, I loved the Woodchuck I had, so I should be set. I don't remember it weighing 277 pounds, of course that was 1994 when I purchaed my woodchuck.
