Hello Milt
what I would do it mount 2 pieces of wood on the edges of your slabs (2x4's
would work well) and then use those wood pieces to mount onto the Legacy's
lower rails,Clamp the wood/slabs on to the rails and then you can run the mill
over the surface and once the section has been cleaned up move the wood along
the rails until until you have cleaned up the hole slab.Your Z axis should have
no problems with the reach, and the a surface planing bit is all that you
really need to do this job.

Subject: NEW Project - Old Subject? Using LOM for large diameter
tables-platters

I have several large English and Black Walnut slabs that I would like to reduce
to tables and large format furniture items and I would like to poll the group
on a project that I am working on to flatten these slabs (photo attached). As
an example this slab is a full three inches thick and measures at the max 72”
for corner to corner and 40 “ wide. Due to its size, I do not want to use a
hand plane to surface the slab and, therefore was thinking of using LOM to do
the job. Anyone have suggestions. I am presently using an 1800 with Z axis, and
with motor drive on X axis. I have the circular table accessory however it is a
bit out small for this project. Your input and experience would desire. Thanks
