Hello Milt what I would do it mount 2 pieces of wood on the edges of your slabs (2x4's would work well) and then use those wood pieces to mount onto the Legacy's lower rails,Clamp the wood/slabs on to the rails and then you can run the mill over the surface and once the section has been cleaned up move the wood along the rails until until you have cleaned up the hole slab.Your Z axis should have no problems with the reach, and the a surface planing bit is all that you really need to do this job.
