Right folks
When I was young and selling the manual mills it started out with the Standard
Gears that were common across the Model range 800, 900, 1000, 1200 & 1800. As I
aged Andy introduced the 4X Gear Set which I think was introduced with the 2000
& 2200 models, and then the 4X was offered on 900, 1200 & 1800. I would assume
that the 4X would fit the 800 & 1000 also but I cannot say hand on heart that
it would because rumour has it that I do not have a heart!
The point I was trying to make was that you cannot mix the 4X and the Standard
Gears

hi roger,
do i understand you correctly, that the gears are not
interchangeable among themselves...i can see the teeth patterns are much larger
on the 4X gears than what i refer to as a typical legacy gear...what i would
like to know is, can these 4X gears mount onto a typical legacy gear
carriage?...or must you have that specific gear carriage that is listed in the
4X owner's manual...sorry if i am not getting this, just want to
clarify...thanks...joe
