Hello and Good morning.
If I can put in my two cents worth here. I 1000ex. is also a table mounted
machine, I put my unit on a set of slides and my machine is mounted on the top
of my work bench, when not in use the machine is slid to the back of the bench,
and when I want to use it, I slide to the front. My machine is a bit higher
then most, basically due to the work bench's height. the top of my rails are 4'
off the ground. (I'm 5' 11") I find that I like watching the spindles turn with
out having to do a lot of bending. (my machine is with in my normal range of
vision standing straight up)
What I am getting at here is , Jim what ever height you make you r machine, it
will become yours. and no matter what height you make it,The machine has to be
conferrable for you to use it.
One more note, I have a bar stool in my shop, I like to sit on that stool and
watch my machine cut, .The bar stool is higher, so when I sit on it, my range
of vision is the same as when I stand.

Good luck on your stand. and Please let us know how it turns out for you. ;-)

I should have noted that the height I gave was the 900 stand with the Legacy
mobile wheels.

To All,

I recently bought a model 900 without the legs. I am building a bench for it
and am wondering what the height should be. For those of you with a model 900,
how high is it off the floor and are you satisfied with the height?

A better question might be, "What is the dimension from the floor to the top of
the upper fixed rails? I think that encompasses more than just the 900.

Also, how tall are you? I'm sure what is optimum for someone 5'5" is not the
same for someone 6'0", etc, etc.

Thank you for your help.
