That geometric chuck is a fantastic widget! I have always drooled over
what Holtzapffel ornamental lathes can do. I set up a Supershop lathe to
mimic some of the simple patterns, but simple is the key word. The
geometric chuck video reminded me of the Spir-o-graph toy. Years ago I
gave up trying to think about linking that.... but now I can cut gears.
Hmmmm.

Your geometric chuck for the LOM is in another class! WOW! First question
(suppressing many others) is how do you cut those gears? I have a gear
geometry program to create a printed pattern, but cutting it on the scroll
saw seems to lack the accuracy that is desirable. They are just spur gears,
so an indexing head on a mill ?

This would be way overkill for the trammel, but I LOVE overkill.

Ivandea. If one used narrow timing belts, would that eliminate a lot of
the gears?
