The trick to use the template follower on the Legacy that I have found, is to have the template follower only control the Y axis, and the X axis is moved by the acme screw/ motor to move the carriage. Legacy design was to have the follower in the back of the machine, I found in the past, it was much easer to control the template movement if the follower was in front of the machine. Since I re-designed my machine, a few years ago. I needed to change and adapt the follower so it again could be used on my Legacy. So Yes a template follower in front can and will get in the way when not needed So I made this, follower is easy to remove and quick to re-install when needed. so now you see it, latter you wont. ;-) This may not be for everyone, but it just might help others in our group to start thinking? There are lots of possibility's out there for using a template with the Legacy.
