The relationship of a child to his biological father and mother is obvious and is therefore usually left blank. When a child is not the biological offspring of a parent, the Legacy database can record the status of their relationship which is not the same as child status. Child status should only be used to record something about the birth of the child such as stillborn, twin, triplet, stillborn twin, etc. The Legacy structure is correct in that it has three separate fields for these three distinct indicators...what kind of birth, relationship to father, relationship to mother. Adopted, foster, natural, etc..should be in the relationship to parent status and can be different for each parent.

The only thing that is needed is to have an option that will show the relationship to father and relationship to mother when they are not blank on the various output screens, reports, and extracts. Perhaps one of the programmers could address this need.
