Hi Pat, As others have said, embedded information comes from programs you have used to scan or edit the photo. I always make copies of my photos for the Legacy folder in jpg with a slightly reduced quality/size. This saves time and space, and preserves the original, with its embedded information, in another location. I do all my scans in tiff at a fairly high resolution so that they are easier to edit. Legacy doesn't need them to be that large. It doesn't really affect the printout. Therefore, you can choose "no" and never worry!
Judie * I have used Legacy (I have the latest -110- build) for some time but am * just getting around to adding pictures. * * I have added a picture (made in 1878) without too much difficulty, but I * have one question. * * At one point it said something about there being embedded info or script * in the picture and asked if I wanted that info put in the description * field. * * So I said yes, thinking it was referring to the caption my father had * printed on the bottom of the picture. * * So what it put into the description field was "LEAD Technologies, Inc.VI.01" * * I have no idea where that info came from -- that doesn't sound like * something from 1878! * * So my question is -- Is that information something I should keep for some * reason? And do you know where it came from?? * * Thanks again! * * Pat Legacy User Group guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ For online technical support, please visit http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
