OK, Carol. That size difference could well be significant. Ideally a picture size of around 300x400 pixels (widthxHeight). For a jpg this gives a size of about 8KB. Legacy then shrinks this to make the thumbnail which appears on your web page and the larger size is shown when you click the thumbnail. It is quite likely that Legacy cannot handle the smaller size correctly.

What I would like you to do is to take the a-greenberry-1770-1831-9.jpg and enlarge this to around 300x400 pixels (or 400x300) if Landscape. The danger here, of course, is that the definition may become rubbish and I don't think anything can easily be done about that. You may, of course, already have a larger picture which you can use - if it's bigger it doesn't matter as Legacy can shrink it.

When you have done this (or found a larger picture) copy it to the picture folder with the same file name - thus overwriting the one already there. Then double click file f108.htm#25 to see if the picture presents OK. If so upload it to the picture folder on your website overwriting the one that is there at present and see if it displays correctly (including expansion on clicking)

Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] pictures are fine on program, but do not appear on Legacy created web pages?

Ron,

I've done this - and there are no spaces in the names, the cases of the
characters are all small. I then compared these (in my Legacy webpage file)
with what ended up being uploaded - and they are identical.

One thing I noticed, though, is that these picture files (the ones that are
not displaying correctly) are all really small, 1K each; whereas my pictures
that display correctly are much bigger in size. I think this is
significant, but I don't know what to do about it.

I still cannot explain why some families are not uploading correctly - only
2 of 7 children are uploaded, for example. The files before upload look
fine, but after upload, the children have vanished.

Carol
