I would like to know how others cite information out of family books. Do
you use the book as a master source and then assign it under each individual
as an Unspecified Event? Or do you use the detail (pg # and possibily
typing the actual wording found) to verify all info for an individual such
as birth, death, residence, school, immigration, etc.?
My dilemma is how to handle this so that it will benefit me the most in the
long run. I would like to use Legacy to it's fullest capabilities and
reduce the amount of time that I spend shuffling through papers or books to
see why I input certain info.
I have a large project that I am working on where I am inputting the entire
family book into Legacy and then going back to make all the updates to the
line with the help of 11 binders that have been kept up from family
reunions. There are many in the family that would like to see it happen
and they will benefit greatly if I can make this work well so that the final
reports are easy to read and understand. So far, I have found a few errors
by doing this (some will need researching), so this will be a good thing in
the end if I can cite everything properly to begin with.
Thanks for your help.
