Laura and Nick     I too have a limited income and I choose to just subscribe to the census records at Ancestry.com at $99.00 a year, that works for me because I am not able to do the library thing,then with all of the other free stuff, I do OK     Often I Google a name from my files just to see what pops up, sometimes I get very lucky   Happiness consists not in possessing much, but in being content with what we now possess. ... It is true, if you are near a public library that subscribes and they have enough computers you could do without buying it yourself. However, if you like going from Legacy's Resource module directly to Ancestry, it obviously needs to be available on your home computer. You might want to try the trial subscription then sign up for the monthly program(overall much more expensive.) Unless you do alot of British Isles, be sure you sign up for only the US version.
