"I am evidently not sending in HTML, at least it is not showing up on
the screen that way, but I have no clue about how I would turn it on or
off."
Just to confirm, your post came through in plain text, Elizabeth. :-)
Each email program has its own way of handling the plain text/HTML
setting. A couple of references I have here to help are

"Isn't it at least possible that people who send in HTML are doing it
accidentally, and do not mean to offend"
This topic comes up often enough for anyone who has been around long
enough (and that's not a long time at all) to be aware of it. It
surfaces *at least* once a month, if not more often.
Kind Regards,
Wendy Howard

I am reasonably comfortable with many aspects of computer use,
especially spreadsheets, but there are others on whch I draw a
complete blank. HTML is one. I am evidently not sending in HTML, at
least it is not showing up on the screen that way, but I have no clue
about how I would turn it on or off.

accidentally, and do not mean to offend"
