Joseph, How long is a piece of string? As I understand, the time it will last depends on the quality of the disc, the more expensive the longer they last, at least in theory. Anything from 2 to 10 years. I also believe that Rewritables retain data for an even shorter period of time - maybe up to 5 years.
I don't really know about DVDs but I suspect that are not a lot different in this respect to CDs. I use a usb stick, an external Hard Drive and also MS Spaces (on-line storage) Ron Ferguson _____________________________________________________________________ For Genealogy, Software and Social visit: http://www.fergys.co.uk New Blog: Open Legacy Family File with Open Office View the Grimshaw Family Tree at: http://www.fergys.co.uk/Grimshaw/ For The Fergusons of N.W.
