I have something similar to this but with a different blank screen. When I
go into the Master Event Definition list when wanting to add another Event
from the Individual's Info page and then click the arrow head, the empty
page comes up - no listing of events showing - only the Find box and
otherwise the page is normal, but nothing listed!! When I put anything (one
letter or space bar) in the Find field then the list shows up. This happens
consistently and has been happening for a long time. I did talk to Brian?
abt it quite a while ago (year or so?) but somehow I lost the conversation
and it didn't get resolved. It doesn't give any trouble other than that very
slight inconvenience. It happens when the programme is first opened, not
necessarily when been running for a long time - any time. Because I haven't
had need to enter new Events for a long time (haven't done any work on
family history for a long time, in fact) I forget abt it.
I see now (having just tried it, normally I never go in that way) that it
happens when I go in thru View/Master List/Event Definite also.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Blank Screens
I've had this problem since I first started using the program, but it's
never caused any "damage" so I just figured it was "one of those things."
Tonight, though, there was an issue, so --
After the program is running for awhile, if I click on a name, when the
individual view comes up, there's no data in it. If I just "cancel" out,
close the program (backup stalls, so I don't try to do that anymore), and
reopen it, everything's fine. But tonight it happened and I lost the
personal information for the individual. He was listed as "unknown" and
his birth, death and burial info was gone. The events and sourced were
still there, though.
Since this happens pretty much every day I use it (because I just start
everything up in the morning and shut it down at night -- so it runs all
day), with all the computers I've used, it's just something I've gotten
used to. But now that I have lost data, I'd like to know how to avoid it
happening again.
Is the solution just to not leave it running so long?
Thanks,
Kris
