Hi Denise

I have been successfully using a 2.5in Portable Drive for all of my family history data form well over a year now. I have the portable drive configured with drive letter X: on my desktop, laptop & EeePC and swap it as required . At the end of each session it is backed up to a NAS device. Saves a lot of headaches keeping track of the most current version and in moving data around.

If I want to use Legacy on a desktop and a laptop, is it better to keep the
data files on the desktop and move them to a portable drive for access by
the laptop? Or is it just as useful to keep the data on a portable hard
drive and access it off either computer? I can't find a reference to this
scenario I the manual and would appreciate ideas.
