Jenny, You are correct that clicking Save will apply the option for the future but to change all the surnames that were created using the old option you have to use the Apply button to tell Legacy you want it to go into your database and change existing records.

If Legacy follows standard Windows conventions - which I am fairly sure it does - there is not *necessarily* any need to click the Apply button. The purpose of an Apply button is to apply some change/option/whatever that you have selected *without exiting that screen*. Pressing the Save button will also apply the change/option.whatever but will close the screen. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
