I didn't say to delete all your picture paths. I said to delete the ones you're not using, assuming that would be everything except the Legacy/Pictures folder, since those are the ones you renamed correctly, apparently. Then make a backup or several backups of that folder.

I've really done it now!~!! I deleted all the paths in Legacy/Pictures, but
I got most of them back from my Desktop folder. At least I don't have
duplicate pictures in my book! Some of the pictures appear to have been in
different folders. Now I have my work cut out!!! Next I will try to find
them and put them back in the right Legacy/Picture folder. Yikes~!!!

Nina, have you checked your multimedia paths under Customize/Locations? Because that will tell you where your pictures are coming from. Once you have that incredibly useful information you can do this: Go to all those "extra" locations ( Desktop, C drive, R drive, Network drive, etc) and find the pictures and if they're just backups, delete them. Then use the other tool there (Test Multimedia Paths) to purge all unlinked pictures (which they will now be i.e. unlinked. If you can't find the pictures in all those other locations, just delete the path to them in FilePath List you were just looking at. Several emails back you said you renamed your pictures (at least one batch of them) and put them into Legacy/Pictures. If that's the connection you want then good, make backups of that folder.

Need some help . . In wanting to publish a book in the ?Publishing Center, there were too many duplicates in 144 pictures.
I'm afraid I don't really understand your problem.

When you say "too many duplicates" do you mean that you had multiple copies of the same photograph but with different names? Of do you mean that some individual photographs were appearing more than once in your book?

If the latter, were the duplicates in the same section of the book (ie, same report) or were they in different sections?

Why did you think it necessary to delete all the pictures from the Legacy\pictures folder?

If you can explain more precisely how you created the book and exactly how the duplicate pictures presented, I'm sure we can find a solution for you.
