MessageCarl, Legacy's Split Screen View does not allow transfers within the same file. Access will not permit it, and locks the file when it is first opened.

I don't know if that will help. When a field is occupied in the 'copy to' screen, Legacy asks if you want to replace Alice C. with Alice Chloe (as an example), so you can compare and remember the change. You do not need to make any changes in the 'from' screen, just bring it up and save it, which puts it in the ready memory of Legacy.
