It’s really all Windows Explorer …

All we’re talking about here is where it starts as a base, the computer with
drives below it or a specific drive …

Just a hierarchy thing really …

Shirley,

Thanks for the enlightenment. Windows key + E opens "My Computer" (including
Desktop) --- that's what I have called it all my life. I have never referred
to "My Computer" as Windows Explorer. If you need something (done), you go to
and open "My Computer" and not Windows Explorer. I guess I have been doing it
wrong. I am still running XP without those fancy libraries.

If you pin the folder for your files to your taskbar in Windows7, the mouseover
calls it Windows

Explorer so I guess the term still exists. In most versions of Windows the
shortcut to open Windows Explorer is: Windows Key + E. The Windows Key is the
key on your keyboard that has the Windows Logo. It's usually in the bottom
left corner of the keyboard.

Windows Explorer was open to "Libraries" when I pinned it to the taskbar, so
now it opens there, which is just fine with me, but others might prefer it to
open at a different location.

Windows Explorer is a term that is rarely used anymore. If you have Windows
Vista or 7, I believe the folder that appears when you click on your Start
button is labelled "Computer". I do know that, if I right click on the the
folder icon on my task bar in Windows 7, "Windows Explorer" is one of the
options which will appear in the pop-up menu. Anyhoo, before there was "My
Computer" or "Computer" in the later incarnations of Windows, there was
"Windows Explorer" (Think Internet Explorer sorta, for your computer files.) in
the earlier incarnations of Windows. Same function, different name.

Windows Explorer is just that menu full of files and folders, i.e. the
contents of your computer, that sits on the left side of pretty much
everywhere you go on your computer. The reason that it involves your
installation of Legacy is because you put some of your multimedia files
there and if you delete the entire thing, you're going to lose them.

I believe Sherry was telling you which files to delete and which to
save. It's useful information.
