The current NARA GIL [General Information Leaflet] is:

(GIL 17) Citing Records in the National Archives of the United States, [rev.
2010], 12 pp.
http://www.archives.gov/publications/general-info-leaflets/index.html This is a
PDF format and can be downloaded

NARA published one way back in 1990 called "Using Records in the National
Archives for Genealogical Research" GIL #5. This was replace by a GIL #110. But
when NARA replaced it they did not include the source citation templates which
were all geared to genealogists.

The source templates in GIL #110 are more generic for any researcher not the
specific ones for a compiled military service record, a pension application, a
bounty land application file or a census.

Marie,

You wrote:" I use the NARA recommended source template."

Can you send us a link to the NARA-recommended source template you mention??
