Bobby, I have to agree with you on principle. Legacy is a Windows program, and it's database is a Microsoft product. However, Ron has previously pointed out problems when using 'special characters' in website filenames etc. So, even if this was fixed within Legacy, it is still probably best to stick to alphanumeric characters plus a few others.
That being said, I do think it's a bug. If you want to be sure your file-name survives a move from one computer to another or from you to me, never use anything in the file name other than abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234567890_ And IMO it's safest to put the unique info in the first 7 spaces. NOT that I follow that these days, but I'm sure I'll regret not doing it sooner or later.
