Don,

I concur with Ron and will make the further statement that I would give L8 a few weeks for this birthing to be complete before getting rid of anything with L7.

Legacy has just too many hidden nooks and crannies that some folks might want to wait until they are sure they are whole with L8 and ALL of their data before doing any file system pruning.

--> Because L8 is by default organized differently on your PC, there are going to a lot of pruning that will need to be done LATER...

Don,
I am not entirely clear as to your meanings, so please feel free to come back to me if I am making a misinterpretation.

For the record programs should never be deleted only uninstalled, once uninstalled them associated *program* files NOTE *not* data files. If you used the default Legacy installation *do not* delete the C\Legacy\Data folder. Even if you have copied this over to the .fdb file over to V8.0 I recommend that you retain this or the backup.zip file some a while. Legacy Charts and Legacy Family Tree are V8.0 folders and should be in your Documents folder. But where are you seeing Legacy8 and where is it on your PC?

I had installed the free version of v7.5 to play with and then purchased and installed v8.

I do daily backups, so I don’t like to have old, unused program remainders on the disk. I see C:\Legacy\ I think that is leftover from v7.5 and is safe to delete. Is that right? Also in my documents there are 3  folders Legacy Charts, Legacy Family Tree, and Legacy8. Are those all placed there by v8? If so, it’s confusing
