Did you add a new source and citation in the sample db?
My perception of the OP is that she is seeing this issue on a new citation &
that her old (pre-v8) citations look fine.
(I'm tuning in to this issue, because I was trying to use the citation
over-ride in v8 and also could not see what I had entered in the assigned
sources window, even with 'show entire citation' clicked.)

source citation

It can be kind of hard to notice it sometimes since the Master Source,
ID numbers and Source Detail are all one paragraph.. I'm looking at
the Sample file and comparing the Output tab with the Source Detail
for Asa, and everything's showing in the Output tab.

If you continue to have a problem after running a File > File
Maintenance > Check/Repair (I recommend backing up first - File >
Backup File), please contact supp...@legacyfamilytree.com or send in a
Problem Report Form so a tech can work with you on this.
