I too am not happy with this change. I will now have to go through my database and remove all the previously "never married and no children" as I have no way of knowing if these people had relationships or not. That means I can no longer use this as a quick view to see if I need to look for a marriage or not, or a means of recording "no children" (for those not married).
I will also be putting in a suggestion that we are given a choice.
