Phil and Eliz, thank you for the links. I'm just getting started with the English research and really feel overwhelmed - even when it is in English!!!. My immigrant was born in 1804, his father in 1790 and the grandfather I think mid 1700. And that's when I realized I dont' know what I'm doing. These websies will be studied closely. Linda
