As soon as you enter Unknown you deprive yourself of the different ways
Legacy has of searching for or displaying in Reports that information is
unknown. See the option in Book reorts to add underlines for missing
information and the multiple searches on the Search-missing information tab.

For me, blanks are a far more obvious indicator than any word.

"married unknown" is no better to me than "married someone."

I've already explained how easy it is to change to just "married."
