I'm with you on thtat, James.

When I get stuck I am quite happy to look at FS Family Tree or Ancestry Public Member Trees, for example, to see if anyone else has found something I've missed, but I never copy the information. I just use it as a pointer to where to look, then I do the research myself and manually enter it into my Legacy tree.

I recently saw a tree which included one of my ancestral lines and had a further generation back than I have been able to find. Yes, I could find the Baptism & Marriage records for the 2 people concerned but nothing to show they were the parents of my ancestors (and they were from another county) and the tree owner was not able to offer any, so they have not been added to my tree.
