You defeat the purpose of storing your documents in
the
protective plastic

I use staples because in the past my source info was
separated from the copy. So from then on I have used
a stapler.
As far as documents, I was referring to copies not
original documents. A copy will last my lifetime and
that is really all I am concerned about. My original
documents are in acid free envelopes in our Safety
Deposit Box.
